Lots of updates this time... Gulivert has updated his Milky's theme to version 0.9.8.1. Here's the changelog:

• Updated control panel configuration

Both user guides (E17 and EFL) have been updated. There's been small fixes here and there. The biggest single change is that Exhibit now has its own page in the EFL user guide. Tanguy Herrmann has sent us a fantastic new animated background: whiteCarbon. The Enlightenment banner in the middle of the background smoothly changes color every 30 seconds. It's not even that heavy - uses around 10% CPU here (in default software mode). It's based on the background of the Carbon-14 theme from Shengjie-Liu. Also includes fixes from lorinc and Thanatermesis.

As you might have noticed, news coverage has been a bit lacking, or at least slow lately, due to various Get-E staff being busy with other things. So we are a bit behind the times when it comes to covering the various E17 development and community related news. Anyways, I can't help feeling a bit nostalgic. Carsten 'rasterman' Haitzler has uploaded a preliminary control panel to CVS. There are three configuration dialogs so far:

• Focus Settings
• Window Manipulation

The modules section begins to grow: Friedrich Preuss has released the Eloquence module, which shows the current played song on screen. It currently works with XMMS and BMP, but he has plans to include Eclair, XMMS2 and Amarok support.

As you might have noticed, our user guide hadn't been updated for a long time. The reason for this, among other things, was that we wanted to rewrite several large sections. The new user guide has now been uploaded. Actually there are two guides now:

• E17 User Guide - this is about E17, and E17 only. In other words all other EFL based applications will not be

As some of you might have noticed, we've been in need of a graphics person for a long time already. Now we've found one: Justin 'Surtsey' Krueger has joined the team and will be handling the site's aesthetical aspect from now on. On a related note, Christopher 'devilhorns' Michael and David 'onefang' Seikel have also joined the team. They are both going to help with

• Support for eject. Currently will auto-eject any cdrom type device (cdrom/cdrw/dvd)

• Clicking on the module with mouse button 1 will now automatically force a background change

The Milky's theme by Gulivert has been updated to version 0.9.6. There's been multiple improvements and bugfixes. Here's the full changelog:

The new integrated EAP editor by Hisham 'CodeWarrior' Mardam Bey is now functional. Here are the commit log messages:

Here's a small roundup of some recent events (this is by no means a comprehensive list, but should at least give you an idea which libraries etc are currently being developed the most).
