Enlightenment DR 17 is a next-generation window manager for UNIX operating systems. It is currently in a pre-alpha stage and is under heavy development. A fairly large community already uses the development version from CVS on a daily basis though. Note that E17 is not officially supported at this stage, but people are free to try it out of course, but the standard disclaimers for pre-alpha software apply.

We're trying to keep all content up to date, but sometimes we may not be able to keep up with the E17 development - some content may be outdated every now and then. Please take a look around and enjoy the stay.

There have been many cvs updates the last days.

Eap support is now really gone! If you update your e17 version, you need to use eap_to_desktop to convert your eap files to desktop files.
We now have new default application icons.
Because of the latest edje changes all themes and backgrounds need to recompiled. You will notice that because of the bad colors when enabling an old theme.
The pager has now a real preview.
E17 does now allow to shutdown the computer directly from the main menu. You need to edit $PREFIX/etc/enlightenment/sysactions.conf to allow users using this actions. If you don't have the permission e17 will not show these entries.
