Enlightenment DR 17 is a next-generation window manager for UNIX operating systems. It is currently in a pre-alpha stage and is under heavy development. A fairly large community already uses the development version from CVS on a daily basis though. Note that E17 is not officially supported at this stage, but people are free to try it out of course, but the standard disclaimers for pre-alpha software apply.

A new background by Rafael "rafuch0" Rumbos has been added to the Animated Backgrounds section, features a nice clean background and animated E logo.

Ole Guldberg "olegb" Jensen has just announced the availability of native OpenDarwin packages . They can be obtained from his repository and are for use with the dplight installer .

Just a note to advise Jason 'slackd00d' Edson has released an updated version of the Cthulhain theme , now at version 0.3-pre2. You can grab it from the themes sections NOW ! . :)

Daniel Kasak has kindly sent us a animated background compromising of a panoramic photo taken in Vanuatu on his honeymoon, and a blender produced explosion effect in the top left , check it out in the animated backgrounds section .

Just a quick note to advise I have added a brief freebsd section to the install guide , this should help those having issues out there installing the EFL .

Hisham pointed me to a new app in current ports called configgen that alleviates the issues with autogen when building from cvs , see the added info for exact details .
