Enlightenment DR 17 is a next-generation window manager for UNIX operating systems. It is currently in a pre-alpha stage and is under heavy development. A fairly large community already uses the development version from CVS on a daily basis though. Note that E17 is not officially supported at this stage, but people are free to try it out of course, but the standard disclaimers for pre-alpha software apply.

As you probably noticed there has been a war in Lebanon started.
One of the main e17 developers, Hisham 'CodeWarrior' Mardam Bey lives in Beirut, which is the capital of Lebanon. Beirut is currently heavily attacked by Israel. They bombed the main airport and main bridges and streets, so Beirut is currently a bit like a prison - noone can leave the town.
Many people asked if CodeWarrior is still be ok - and he is for now. We stay in contact with him, even if the power fails and he don't have access to the internet. We will keep you informed about the current status.
